I am not a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio ...and I didn't care to watch his biggest success movie, Titanic, but I do prefer historical to hysterical ...and he has been in some very enlightening movies. I am referring, in particular, to the movie, Blood Diamond. One of the most horrific scenes was how the young children were kidnapped, enslaved, and bred to be hardened killers. Two young children were armed with guns, and made to stand face-to-face, in front of all the other children. The one who was willing to shoot the other ...lived. But the life they lived was one of brutal killing. It showed the struggle between government soldiers and rebel forces. The young children were used to do the killing for the Revolutionary United Front ---as a shield and deterrent, against outside forces whom they hoped were unwilling to kill young children to achieve an overthrow of the revolutionary leaders.

How much different is this than what we know is done with the street drugs that plague our cities ...at the expense of children, enabling astronomical profits to the drug cartels?   There are so many protests, of different venues and with different agendas ....but if they would just take their armies of professed concern, and enter some of the most drug infested cities and attempt to disperse the gangs  ---perhaps they could do as much good as Solomon did, in the movie Blood Diamond, with his own son.  But much of the concern is empty rhetoric, as they do not breathe a word of concern for the staggering numbers of deaths in inner cities ---caused by the very things that are really wrong.  Someone like Bill Cosby can stand up and address these issues, but they want him to sit down.




I should not tell you who you are ...and you have no business telling me who I am!!  By the time you finish reading this, you should have a much clearer vision of who I am ...unless, I'm having a hard time sorting through this, and need more time to think it through.  In that case, you'll hear from me again, and I'll retract some things I perhaps have not thought through as much as I should have.  But there are things I certainly am ...and things I am certain I am not.  I am not a Communist and I am not a revolutionist.  If you are one, it's time to own up to it!  The thing that really bothers most of us ...is deceit.  Two of the most horrific characters in history, Hitler and Stalin, didn't like to be lied to either.  The problem is, they found it to their advantage to lie.  Sort of a double-standard that decent people have a real difficulty with.  I also try not to stand against something that God does not teach me to stand against.  So, yes, I believe in God ...and yes, I believe God has preserved the Bible for us.  If someone else says they believe in the Bible, it does not mean that all who read the Bible agree ...nor does it mean that I agree with all of them.  I believe in the value of every human being, and my friendships have well-shown that.  It's absurd to think you'd try to divide me on that issue ...I don't get out as much anymore, as I am retired, so how involved am I?  I look to the issues when I vote, and though I may not trust everyone to hold the rest of us up with equal respect, at least I believe we should continue to try within our system ...instead of abandoning our government in favor of revolution, that would only put our trust in a fragile and empty hope.  I am not in favor of Communism, and though I don't like all aspects of capitalism ...at least I feel I can endure under it.  I also thank God I live in the United States ...and if you are less than thankful, please tell me where you feel it is better to live.
